” An Japanese Restaurant " is a small, 12-seat sushi counter located in San Francisco’s Japan Center.
Having inherited the restaurant from former owner-chef Kiyoshi, Daisuke Takiguchi now leads the kitchen, together with Hana, who guides hospitality. Together, they bring you the very best of the season, one dish at a time.
Daisuke trained in Japanese cuisine for 15 years in Japan before moving to the United States. In California’s Napa Valley, he spent six years at Michelin one-starred " Kenzo " , rising to the position of Head Chef. His cuisine connects fish flown directly from Japan with the local seasons of California.
Hana, fluent in Japanese, English, and Chinese, ensures a warm and personal experience for every guest. From pairing recommendations to planning special occasions, she creates an atmosphere of comfort and care. In a small restaurant like ours, we value the opportunity to provide attentive service to each and every guest.
